This is caused by over tightening the air duct. The crimp allowed unfiltered air to enter the engine. When tightening the duct be aware that the plastic is soft and it gets even softer when the engine compartment is hot.

If the duct wants to pull off the air box when driving, screws can be installed on the outer sides of the duct into the air box. The screws can be hidden under the clamp.

A crimp can be straightened by applying heat to the flange with a heat gun.
