Filling the Cooling System Version 3
As published in the Heart of the Beast Issue 47 for the second quarter of 2017.
This procedure is for an engine with the OE air bleed provisions. Specifically, the air vent holes at the tops of the injector housings must be open to air and coolant flow.
If the engine has AO Power Plates the air bleeds are blocked unless the Power Plates have been drilled for air bleed holes to match the injector housings.
If plenum the gaskets are installed so as to block the air bleed holes either intentionally or unintentionally this procedure does not apply.
I recommend keeping all of the OE air bleed system operational.
